It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! Your new Happy Hour martini has got to be this Skinny Rosemary Cosmopolitan, A tantalizing rosemary aroma and tasty zero-calorie Cosmopolitan cocktail mixer make this a great go-to drink when you’re looking for flavor without all the unnecessary calories and sugar.

A couple of weeks ago I got a sneak peak at all of the amazing food and drinks that will be served at tonight’s Rock, Roll and Stroll Tastemakers at Mizner Park event. The first cocktail of the evening was this Raspberry Rosemary Cosmopolitan at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. It was made with Absolut Raspberri, Cointreau, lime and cranberry juices, muddled raspberries and rosemary.

The drink was a deep glowing red, garnished with a sprig of rosemary and a raspberry — definitely a beautiful presentation. Then I took a sip and presentation aside, this was one hell of a drink. There is a strong aroma from the rosemary with each sip you take and the raspberry was subtle and added just the right touch of sweetness. Cosmos are typically made with cranberry juice and lime, and although these two flavors were used, they weren’t too prominent (good for me, because I really could do without cranberry juice — it’s not my favorite). But they were still there, giving a slight nod to the traditional drink’s flavor.

I had to recreate a similar cocktail at home. I changed it up slightly and decided to forgo the raspberry flavor. Ok, I’ll admit, I forgot to buy raspberries and didn’t feel like going back out to the store. Cascade Ice Waters recently sent me their zero-calorie cocktail mixers and one of them happened to be a Cosmopolitan. Perfect!

My Skinny Rosemary Cosmo looks just as beautiful as the one I had at Ruth’s Chris but it really is quite different. It’s made with Tito’s vodka, Cascade Ice Water Cosmopolitan cocktail mixer, club soda, fresh lime juice, and rosemary. In order to bump up the rosemary flavor, I placed a few sprigs in the drink and allowed it to sit for about 20 minutes before pouring into martini glasses to serve.

Even without raspberries, this Skinny Rosemary Cosmo was still a delicious drink. I like it even better knowing that it’s “skinny!” Zero-calorie cocktail mixers are a great option, especially when they still taste just as good. No calories, no fat, no sugar, no carbs…nothin’!

My aversion to Cosmopolitans may have been resolved — as long as I don’t have to open a bottle of cranberry juice, I’m content! Try this Skinny Rosemary Cosmo the next time you’re looking for a tasty drink without all the unnecessary calories and sugar.

Don’t miss tonight’s Rock, Roll and Stroll Tastemakers at Mizner Park from 6-9:30 p.m. Experience signature dishes and drinks from Mizner Park’s best restaurants, live entertainment, and a special craft beer tasting area. Make sure to stop by Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse to taste the original drink that inspired this Rosemary Cosmopolitan!
