I love figs. I tried my first dried fig recently and was pretty blown away with how delicious they were. Why had I never eaten one of these miraculous little treats before?! They’re sweet — I’d even go as far as to call them a little bit smokey. I love adding dried figs to my salads or even eating them plain. I always turn to Orchard Choice when I’m looking for figs, especially their Mission Figlets. But they also make Fig Spreads! In four flavors — Organic Mission Fig, Balsamic Pepper, California Orange and Port Wine — these bold spreads are a yummy topper for crostini, homemade flatbread or crackers. Something else I love? Blue cheese. Well, I love cheese in general. But there’s something about blue cheese that is just so tasty. Blue cheese has a super strong flavor and can easily overpower any other ingredients it’s paired with, so you do have to be careful when using it in a recipe.
But when paired with figs? It’s magic. Pure culinary magic. These two ingredients love each other, and they aren’t afraid to show it! It made perfect sense to blend together the new Orchard Choice Fig Spread with blue cheese to make a dip! This Fig & Blue Cheese Dip is a perfect example of how well they complement one another. I used the Mission Fig spread and the only other thing I added was a little Greek yogurt. That’s all. Nothing else. Maybe a pinch of salt if you don’t like things overly sweet.

- 4 oz. crumbled blue cheese
- ½ cup Orchard Choice California Mission Fig Spread
- ¼ cup plain non fat Greek yogurt
- optional: pinch of salt
- Add all ingredients to a food processor and pulse until smooth. Serve cold.
