Everything You Need to Know About Le Diner en Blanc – West Palm Beach
Update: This event has been rescheduled for January 6th, 2024.
Le Diner en Blanc returns to West Palm Beach on Saturday, December 16th. Register now and select me as your Table Leader!
If you’re unfamiliar with this one-of-a-kind communal dining experience, it started in Paris back in 1988 as a simple yet elegant affair for friends to get together and celebrate life, food, wine and community. It’s an all-white gathering, meaning guests not only dress head-to-toe in white, but all of the decor and tablescape items should be white too — gold and silver metallic accents are allowed. Traditionally, everyone brings their own set up: tables, chairs, decor, picnic baskets with food and drink, etc.
The dining location remains a secret right up until the last minute. There are meet-up spots for everyone who purchases a ticket and then you are escorted, whether by foot or vehicle of some kind, to the spot. Yes, you read that right — you have no idea where your evening will be spent until you get there.
Le Diner en Blanc is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, but this event has popped up in over 120 cities in 40 countries all over the world.
Le Diner en Blanc – West Palm Beach is hosted by Modernique & Co Project Management Firm, and the theme for 2023 goes back to the event’s original roots: “From Paris With Love,” transporting guests to a Parisian paradise right here in Palm Beach County.
I am super excited to be attending my first Le Diner en Blanc event. It’s all very fitting for me, since I visited Paris earlier this year!
What to Bring to Le Diner en Blanc – West Palm Beach
One of the biggest parts of having a successful experience at Le Diner an Blanc is making sure you know exactly what you need to bring when you attend the event. That’s why I not only wanted to publish this blog for you, but I also invited one of the team members from Modernique & Co onto my podcast to thoroughly explain everything you need to know about Le Diner en Blanc – West Palm Beach. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts or watch the interview on YouTube!
Each registration for Le Diner en Blanc is for two people, so when packing for the event, plan for bringing things for you and your guest — or, of course, you can coordinate with the rest of the people at your table!
While tables and chairs will be provided at the West Palm Beach event, guests should bring a picnic basket or cooler with:
- (1) white tablecloth
- (2) white cloth napkins
- (2) white plates
- (2) sets of cutlery
- (2) unbreakable glasses for wine/Champagne
- Wine opener
- Water/non-alcoholic beverages
- Garbage bag
- Lighter or matches (for lighting sparklers)
Keep in mind that Le Diner en Blanc is a sustainable event, so guests are asked to not bring plastic or one-time-use glasses, dishes, or cutlery. For easy transport of your things, opt for a cooler with wheels or a foldable trolley/cart.
Guests are also encouraged to have fun with their table decor — but keep it elegant and white! Vases with colored flowers are allowed, however. This is your chance to get creative and go over the top. There is no such thing as being too extra at Le Diner en Blanc!
Now for the food and drink…
When it comes to alcoholic beverages, per Florida State law, bringing your own alcohol is not allowed; any alcohol can only be consumed on site if pre-purchased. After you’ve purchased your ticket for the event, you’ll be able to visit the E-store to pre-purchase bottles of wine and Champagne (no other alcohol is permitted) to pick up when you arrive on-site.
Guests can choose to bring their own meal, or that too can be purchased through the E-store. There are gourmet picnic boxes provided by West Palm Beach catering company, Epic Catering, available to pre-purchase for pickup on-site.
Note: everything must be pre-purchased or brought from home. There will be no food or alcohol sale at the event.
