Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week? The months just keep flying by. Every day there is something new and exciting going on — I can’t keep track of it all! As the holidays draw near, it’s the perfect time to reflect and give thanks for all of the amazing, wonderful things that happen throughout the year. For instance, I started a new job in July and I am extremely grateful for all the experiences and opportunities that have come along with it, as well as meeting and befriending a group of really wonderful people.

Life definitely has turned a bit upside down for me within these last few months. There’s never a dull moment, and I barely have time to sit down, let alone think about preparing a meal for the holidays. Thankfully, #SundaySupper is always there to help — and so is Gallo Family Vineyards. With all the craziness of the holidays right around the corner, at least there’s wine! The #SundaySupper team is sharing some of their favorite recipes that remind us of giving thanks and giving back to the community, two things that should be on everyone’s mind during this time of year. We’re talking food, wine, traditions, and holiday tips and tricks to keep things from getting too much to handle.

I believe that a homemade gift is the perfect way to say thank you to someone, and to show them how much you care. I’ve made everything from spiced roasted nuts to cookies to brownies, but today I’m sharing a super easy dessert that simply tastes like pure love. Dark chocolate and caramel, sprinkled with a little sea salt — now those are flavors I can totally get down with during the holiday season, especially with a glass of Gallo Family Vineyards Pinot Noir to pair.

I usually make peppermint bark around the holidays, but this time I swapped out the peppermint for a deeper, richer companion — caramel. Dark Chocolate Caramel Bark requires no baking whatsoever, and it’s really easy to make a huge batch. That way, you can break it up into a bunch of little pieces and bag it up for all your friends and family. Nothing says “Thank You” like a bag of chocolate. Especially if it comes with a bottle of Gallo Family Vineyards wine!

Not only does GFV commit to delivering the perfect wines for our holiday recipes, but they are also committed to an initiative that I focuses on improving the health and quality of life for all the wonderful seniors they serve — Meals on Wheels America. For six straight years, GFV has implemented its Every Cork Counts program to help end senior hunger and isolation. For every wine cork submitted through their website or through, $1 will be donated to the cause. It’s super easy to get involved — all you have to do is take a picture of your corks, or send them in!
