Disclosure: I was invited to dine as a guest of Chops Lobster House. No monetary compensation has been received for this post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Now through the end of March, enjoy special pricing on Channé Rosé and a featured pairing menu at Buckhead Life Restaurants, with locations in South Florida that include Lobster Bar Sea Grille Miami, Lobster Bar Sea Grille Las Olas, CHOPS Lobster Bar and City Fish Market.
The rosé trend is still riding high, and I have definitely jumped on the band wagon. I like my rosé crisp and refreshing, not too sweet, and most importantly, during brunch or lunch. Very rarely will I order a glass of rosé with dinner — there’s just something about it that feels like a daytime drink. So when I was invited into CHOPS Lobster Boca in Boca Raton for an afternoon rosé tasting and lunch, there was no hesitation on my part.
Channé Rosé has launched a wine pairing partnership with Buckhead Life Restaurants, which includes four South Florida locations, as well as nine in Atlanta, GA. From now until March 31st, guests can enjoy a glass of Channé Rosé for $13 or $52 for the bottle. Along with your glass or bottle of wine, the restaurants will be offering a special pairing menu, prepared by each of the restaurants’ head chef, to enhance your Channé Rosé experience.
Lucky for me, CHOPS Lobster Bar is right down the street in East Boca. One of their other Boca Raton locations, City Fish Market, is a little further west, but alas, one of my absolute favorite places for seafood. Staying closer to home, I headed over to Royal Palm Place to see Executive Chef Sean Thompson, who would be preparing this extra special pairing plate to compliment the rosé.
Since CHOPS is closed during the afternoon, our tasting was super private — we had the whole restaurant to ourselves! We also got to watch Chef Sean in action, as he brought out all of his ingredients to prep and plate right in front of us. The dish was comprised of three appetizers, two of which you won’t find on the regular menu. The first, a staple on the Happy Hour menu, as well as a starter offered during dinner, is the Thai chili calamari with beans and sweet peppers; second was A5 Kobe beef keftedes (Greek meatballs) with cucumber tzatziki and crumbled feta cheese; and the third, a seafood ceviche with cilantro-mango emulsion. The idea behind this pairing plate is that Chef Sean has created unique flavor profiles to complement the notes found in Channé Rosé — and that they did!
Aside from this trio of yumminess, Chef Sean brought out a new octopus dish he has been experimenting with since he knows how much I enjoy this particular ingredient — Mediterranean octopus, chargrilled and served with pickled red onion, Santorini capers and Greek olives. Hopefully this will go on the menu, because it was excellent. I devoured the entire thing, minus the olives. There is nothing I dislike more than olives. #SorryNotSorry. Thankfully, my lunch date took care of those…
South Florida locals, take advantage of this delicious Channé Rosé pairing menu while you can. You could even visit all four locations and sample the various platters, as I would imagine they are all different. But one thing remains the same — each dish will make your glass (or bottle) of Channé Rosé taste that much better.
