Remember back in February when I judged the Flavors of Boca event? Aside from lots of good food from local restaurants, there were also a couple of vendors showcasing their products, one of whom I had the pleasure of having a great conversation with. Rachel Stanley is an independent associate for Isagenix, a company with a variety of products focusing on cleansing, weight loss, fitness and nutrition. Rachel and I got to talking about the protein shakes and their pretty impressive stats — all organic, soy free, gluten free, absolutely no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. The sugar in these shakes comes from a small amount of Stevia and…wait for this one…BEETS! At 240-280 calories per shake, they can be used as a meal replacement or supplement to your existing daily routine, or as part of the Isagenix cellular cleanse program. Rachel sent me some samples of the IsaLean shakes in creamy french vanilla and creamy dutch chocolate. I love a good protein shake after a hard work out, so I was excited to try them out. Both had great flavor (none of that chalkiness you sometimes get from a protein powder) and the texture was smooth and creamy, just how I like it. I also got a sample of the Isagenix Greens, a 30-calorie scoop full of herbs, vegetables and antioxidants. The last sample I received was IsaFruits, a 30-calorie scoop that has as many antioxidants as 20 servings of fruit! Both of these scoops can be simply added to water, or you can mix them with your IsaLean shakes for some added nutrition. Sometimes it’s hard to get your recommended fill of fruits and vegetables through out the day; getting them from a simple drink makes it so much easier. This is one of the most appealing aspects of these supplements, especially if you’re one of those people who likes to drink their snacks & meals.
