Although dinner and brunch might first come to mind when dining out, lunch in Delray Beach is not to be missed. Especially when these three restaurants serve it: Brulé Bistro, Rose’s Daughter, and The Pantry. All are locally owned by Chef Suzanne Perrotto, all tucked back in the quaint Pineapple Grove neighborhood of Downtown Delray, and all serve some of the best food in town.
I’ve cited Brulé as one of my favorite Delray Beach restaurants for date night, and Rose’s Daughter as a top spot for pizza in Delray Beach — the gluten-free crust is the best in the area, IMO. And now they’re both on my list for the best lunch in Delray Beach too!
The Pantry opened in November of 2023, serving sweet and savory homemade baked goods, sandwiches, juice, and coffee. It’s one of few places to grab breakfast in the area but has also become a staple for a fuss-free and delicious lunch in Delray Beach.
Brulé has been open for lunch for quite some time, as well as for brunch on the weekends, but Rose’s Daughter has been solely a dinner spot since it opened in 2019. Excitement came about this past fall, however, when rumors started to fly that Rose’s would soon open for lunch — and the people were super pumped about it. In November 2024, the restaurant officially launched its lunch menu!
Now, all three sister restaurants are open for lunch in Delray Beach Wednesday through Sunday until 3 pm. Brulé and Rose’s Daughter open at 11:30 am, while The Pantry opens at 8 am to catch those early birds looking for a yummy breakfast.
If you’re in search of some trendy restaurants in Delray Beach for lunch, but don’t want to be on crowded Atlantic Avenue, add these three to your list!
Brulé Bistro for Lunch in Delray Beach
Brulé is the OG of the fam — it’s been a neighborhood gem since it opened in 2008. The menu is modern American, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, seasonal preparations, artisan wines, unique cocktails, and local craft beers. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, yet chic and sophisticated. It’s been a favorite of mine for as long as I’ve lived in South Florida!
There’s indoor and dog-friendly outdoor seating. Although the bar is relatively small, it sees lots of action — especially during happy hour when all drinks are 20% off and a special selection of small plates are available at great prices.
The lunch menu offers a lot of variety. You’ll see many of the same appetizers and salads as the dinner menu, but the handhelds are where it’s at. There’s the crispy dayboat fish sandwich with Old Bay aioli on house-made brioche, the signature short rib blend burger with cheddar, roasted mushrooms, arugula, tomato, avocado, and tarragon aioli, and my personal favorite, the turkey club…just to name a few.
The turkey club comes piled high with roasted turkey, thick-cut crispy bacon, arugula, pecorino, tomato, avocado, and oregano aioli. As is, this sandwich is served on house-made brioche, but Brulé has a gluten-free bread option — YAY!
You can add greens, regular fries, or truffle fries as a side to any handheld for a small up-charge, and I highly recommend going for either of the fries. Brulé fries have the perfect amount of crunch and salt. They are definitely on my list of favorite fries.
Cocktail Tip: Brulé does a twist on a classic French 75 that is simply the best. Lavender is added to the traditional ingredients of gin (Magellan), lemon, and champagne. It’s the perfect bubbly accompaniment to your lunch in Delray Beach!
Brulé Bistro is located at 200 NE 2nd Avenue. Lunch is served Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 am-3 pm. Brunch is on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am-3 pm. Happy Hour is Tuesday from 4-6 pm and Wednesday through Sunday from 3-6 pm. Dinner is Tuesday through Thursday from 4-10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 4-11 pm, and Sunday from 4-9 pm.
Rose’s Daughter for Lunch in Delray Beach
Rose’s Daughter is Chef/Owner Suzanne’s love letter to her family. She grew up in the business, as her family owned an Italian Trattoria in New York. Her mother, Linda Rose, was the chef — and now you know why the restaurant is called Rose’s Daughter.
The restaurant is Chef Suzanne’s own American Trattoria, showcasing authentic American Italian cuisine rooted in her family’s recipes and traditions. Rose’s Daughter has an indoor bar and dining area, but the patios are always the most coveted spot. For Pineapple Grove people-watching, sit out front. The back patio, where there is also a second bar, is a sight to see, with a myriad of colorful paintings that truly just make it such a vibe.
As I mentioned before, my favorite gluten-free pizza can be found at Rose’s Daughter — made from scratch. There is a house-made vegan cheese available too, which is also very yummy. The lunch menu features five different pizza options, as well as a variety of small plates great for sharing, house-made pasta dishes that include an arugula salad, and sandwiches with a gluten-free wrap option.
Cocktail tip: One of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted was at Rose’s Daughter a few years back. Although the bartender who created it no longer works there, the drink has never left the menu. The ‘Valerie Rosella’ is made with Atian Pink Gin, St. Germain, fresh lime, and rose. The rose isn’t overwhelming, I promise. It is a perfectly balanced and refreshing drink and worth an order. You’re welcome.
Rose’s Daughter is located at 169 NE 2nd Avenue. Lunch is served Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 am-3 pm. Happy Hour is 4-6 pm, featuring 20% off the entire menu. Dinner is Tuesday through Thursday from 4-10 pm, Friday and Saturday from 4-11 pm, and Sunday from 4-9 pm.
The Pantry for Lunch in Delray Beach
With so much success surrounding Brulé Bistro and Rose’s Daughter, it was only a matter of time before Chef Suzanne expanded her empire and added yet another delicious spot to Pineapple Grove’s collection of places to eat.
Megan Robson, Executive Pastry Chef for both restaurants, has so much talent, and she definitely deserved a separate entity to let her baked goods shine. The Pantry does just that!
Everything is scratch-made — seasonal treats, croissants, cookies, macarons, pop-tarts, quiches, cakes, and sandwiches served on fresh bread and biscuits… Plus, there are gluten-free and vegan options always available. It’s an ideal spot when you want a casual lunch Delray Beach outing.
Walking by The Pantry smells nothing short of amazing. There is no better aroma than that of bread baking in the oven, freshly brewed coffee, and all the sweets prominently on display when you enter the door. Its location is right next door to Rose’s Daughter, so you can’t miss it.
Downtown Delray was sorely lacking a café like this, and Chef Suzanne was able to fill that void. It’s safe to say, the community is incredibly thankful for that.
The Pantry is located at 177 NE 2nd Avenue. Breakfast and lunch are served Wednesday through Sunday from 8 am – 3 pm.
