Oceans 234 is well known for its picturesque views of the beach, delectable seafood specialities, and a team that is always involved in community affairs, but did you know that the restaurant, with its prime location at the Deerfield Beach pier, is also available for private parties and catering?
Oceans 234 has been a staple in the Deerfield community since its owner, Danielle Rosse, opened it in 2002; but after a $1.8 million renovation in 2015, it’s become even more of a hot commodity with its huge outdoor patio and lounge, and an entirely open layout featuring an indoor/outdoor bar that allows for a better view of the beach than ever before. There have been many chef changes over the years — and many menu changes as well — but Executive Chef William Middleton seems to have stuck, and his work on the new catering and events menu definitely shows why.
Oceans 234 graciously hosted its VIPs — friends, family, community and media partners, etc. — for a night of some seriously good food and drinks coupled with a breathtaking view. Not only is the atmosphere at Oceans 234 perfect for hosting a party, but the presentation of the food is just as beautiful as the restaurant itself. Special Events Coordinator, Amanda Ellis, along with Director of Marketing, Shanine Dorta, and the rest of the team at Oceans can really put on a show. I should know, as I have personally hosted a brunch event there, and these ladies did me proud! There are options for passed or stationary appetizers, as well as plated dishes, and lots of cocktails.
No matter what you’re palate craves, Oceans has you covered with things like guava lamb ribs with a Florida citrus-chayote slaw; mini tacos with chipotle cream, tomato jam and cabbage slaw; chicken milanese sliders with hand-pulled mozzarella and confit tomato on a pressed Challah bun; and one of the most plentiful antipasti platters featuring grilled baby carrots, zucchini, pear tomatoes and roasted peppers, assorted cheese and charcuterie and assorted bread.
Evenings events are nice, but a weekend brunch at Oceans 234 is also a great option, especially if guests can feast on pan-seared 24-hour soaked French toast with cinnamon custard, sautéed apples and tropical fruit; smoked salmon platters with chopped onions, capers, bagels and cream cheese; mini tropical fruit parfaits with fresh tropical fruit, granola, local Florida honey and almond butter mousse; coffee-rubbed skirt steak, and goat-cheese truffle frittatas.
All of the food is incredible, but there’s no question that seafood fanatics will be in heaven when they attend an event at Oceans 234. Imagine a seafood platter filled with jumbo shrimp and crab cocktail, lobster tail, oysters and clams galore… perfectly sized one-bite spoonfuls of fresh Hawaiian sushi-grade tuna with cucumber, mango, edamame and ponzu sauce… fresh sashimi and sushi for days and days… and of course, lots of fresh fish entrées.
Oceans 234 is an ideal backdrop for things like engagement parties, baby or bridal showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, corporate events, and even rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions. I mean, come on, celebrating any kind of milestone with the beach in plain sight, only footsteps away, is okay in my book. You can rent out the north or south end of the patio, or the whole thing if you’re planning to have a lot of guests. Want to keep it indoors? No worries, the inside dining room is available to rent as well.

Oceans 234 is located at 234 North Ocean Blvd. in Deerfield Beach. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 11:30am-10pm, Friday and Saturday from 11:30am-2am, and Sunday from 10am-10pm. Brunch is served on Sundays, and Happy Hour takes place at the bar Monday through Friday from 3-7pm, featuring a special bar bites menu and half-priced drinks.
