You’ll get a full dose of vitamin C in this green smoothie made with nutrient-rich pineapple, mango and kale. “The Cold-Buster” Green Smoothie will help you fight off those lurking colds as the seasons change.
Smoothies are my go-to breakfast. I love to throw protein powder, a little almond milk and some fruit in my Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender and breakfast is ready in no time! Sometimes I’ll switch it up from the protein powder and get my protein from something different, like Stonyfield Greek yogurt!
It’s important to start the morning off with the right amount of protein to stay fueled and energized for the day. Aside from making sure my smoothies are protein-rich, I keep it sweet with some of my favorite fruit. Pineapple and mango are both great options for morning smoothies. They are both super rich in vitamin C to help strengthen your immune system. I lead a pretty busy lifestyle and I have zero time to get sick, so I like to stock up on my vitamin C to ensure that no colds come anywhere near my body!
As if the pineapple and mango didn’t provide enough vitamins to this smoothie, I added in more vitamin C-rich kale. Now we’ve got our greens! The Cold-Buster Green Smoothie is a powerhouse in nutrition. Greek yogurt, pineapple, mango, kale…and my all-time favorite ingredient, GINGER!
Using the single-serve blender is perfect for mornings when I have to make breakfast and run out the door, which happens often. Green smoothies are pretty trendy right now, and for good reason. They taste good, I promise! You’d have no idea there’s kale in The Cold Buster — well, except for the pretty green color — unless I told you! You can’t taste it at all. What you can taste is a little bit of spiciness from the ginger, sweetness from the pineapple and mango, and tanginess from the yogurt.
