When you think of the best seafood in South Florida, The Station House should immediately come to mind!

Known for its fresh Maine lobsters, which are shipped in live every day, The Station House in Lantana has been a staple in the community for over 30 years.
If you’re unfamiliar with Lantana, it’s a very small coastal town in Palm Beach County, located between Lake Worth Beach and Boynton Beach. Not far at all from Boca Raton, Delray Beach and West Palm. There’s something very ‘Old Florida’ about this area, and The Station House is definitely a neighborhood gem.
Aside from delicious seafood appetizers and main dishes, the menu also features a selection of soups, salads, and pasta — and yes, gluten-free pasta is available. For the land-lubbers, there are steaks, pork chops, and ribs. The Station House has something for everyone.
Got a sweet tooth? Key lime pie, white chocolate blueberry bread pudding, tiramisu, peanut butter pie, creme brûlée… All of these are made in-house! If you’d rather drink your dessert, try the Station House Café with Frangelico, milk, chocolate cream, and Kahlua, or the Cinnamon Toast Café with Rumchata and Jack Daniels Fire topped with whipped cream.
This upscale-yet-relaxed seafood restaurant is located in a historic former train station. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — and so is the staff — with wood interiors and a nautical theme that almost makes you feel like you’re on board a ship.
The Station House has both indoor dining and an outdoor patio area. The restaurant’s cozy yet spacious layout makes it a great spot for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. If you’re looking for something even more intimate, however, the private banquet room is available to rent. This room comfortably seats up to 65 guests and can be set up according to your preference.
What to Order at The Station House
Everyone is looking for the best seafood in South Florida, and they know that’s what they’ll find at The Station House!
Lots of South Florida restaurants serve fish and seafood, but when people ask me for recommendations for the best seafood restaurants in South Florida, it’s sometimes hard to come up with a good list of restaurants in Palm Beach County specifically. The Station House is absolutely on that list, though! No matter what you order, your taste buds are in for a treat.
The raw bar items are great for sharing as an appetizer, as are any of the small plates. Starting with oysters is always a good idea — especially during Shuck & Sip Tuesdays! Every Tuesday, all oysters are half-price at the bar during happy hour from 4:30-6:30 pm.
During my last visit, I had the Key Largo salmon. The fish has a sweet chili-lime glaze and is served with papaya-mango salsa and coconut-ginger rice. There are so many delicious tropical flavors going on in this dish — and it looks beautiful on the plate, too!
But it’s the Maine lobster that makes the biggest splash at The Station House. Lobster tail can be added to any of the salads, and the lobster bisque is a classic made with lobster stock and claw meat. There is also a lobster roll on the menu, served chilled, a.k.a. “Maine-style” (the best way, in my opinion).
You can get the zuppa de pesce which includes lobster along with a variety of other seafood, the lobster pasta with linguine and your choice of sauce, lobster tails with bread crumbs and beurre blanc, or if you’re in the mood for a little surf & turf, get the Tips & Tails, which also has tenderloin tips.
Lobster mac and cheese makes an appearance as a side dish option, and you can even add a 1.5 lb lobster to the filet mignon, New York Strip, or bone-in ribeye. I’ve already decided this is what I’m ordering next time — filet with the lobster add-on!
The real star of the menu, though? The whole Maine lobster platters. The Station House serves whole lobsters from 1.5 lbs up to 10 lbs. They’re served steamed, boiled, or crab-stuffed and come with corn and potatoes at market price. These lobsters are live and shipped in every day!
If you aren’t a lobster aficionado (like my fiancé, who grew up in Maine — he was in lobster heaven with this for dinner!), your server can absolutely crack the claws and tail open for you if need be. And yes, lobster bibs are ready and waiting. Don’t be afraid to get messy with your lobster!
