COVID-19 may be preventing people from dining out at their favorite restaurants in Delray Beach, but thankfully, many of them are still offering curbside pickup, take-out and delivery options, so we can still get our fill of our favorite foods and support local business.

Downtown Delray Beach has quite the lively restaurant and bar scene — when things are normal, that is. Right now, these Delray Beach restaurants are struggling, and striving to stay alive and keep their employees afloat. The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority has been keeping a running list of all the restaurants that are still open for pickup, take-out and delivery, so you can do your part to support — and keep your tummies happy.

Here is a list of my top ten favorite dishes from Downtown Delray Beach restaurants (in no particular order). Some are still available now to order, but others are not, as the restaurants may have temporarily shut down. Take note, though, because as soon as they open back up, you’ll definitely want to go try them out.

  • Crispy Chickpeas from Death or Glory — vegan “Cheetos” seasoning
    • Open for pickup and delivery. Now also serving to-go cocktails.
  • Chopped Salad from City Oyster — Grilled chicken, broccoli, tomatoes, gorgonzola, roasted peppers, shallots, croutons, and house vinaigrette (I get mine without croutons or cheese.)
    • Currently closed.
  • House-Smoked Mahi Dip from The Blue Anchor — served with cucumber, tomato and roasted jalapeños
    • Currently open for pickup and delivery.
  • House-Smoked Fish Dip from Deck 84 — served with pickled vegetables and saltines (I get mine with carrots and celery sticks instead of the crackers.)
    • Currently closed.
  • Mariquitas from Cabana El Rey — Crispy plantain chips served with garlic mojo and avocado salsa
    • Currently closed.
  • Prosciutto e Melone from Elisabetta’s — Prosciutto and cantaloupe with extra virgin olive oil, mint, and sea salt
    • Currently closed.
  • Wings and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries from Beer Trade Co. — I like the wings plain, but they come in buffalo, garlic, honey garlic, honey jalapeño, honey Old Bay, BBQ, honey-jalapeño Old Bay, mambo mind, and mambo sweet and spicy, and served with ranch or blue cheese dressing
    • Open for pickup and delivery.
  • Walnut Chewies and Meringue Kisses from Two Fat Cookies — gluten and dairy free
    • Open for pickup and delivery. Now also serving breakfast and lunch, and baking kits.
  • Grilled Pork Chop from Brule Bistro — smoked parsnip purée, natural game reduction, pork belly lardons
    • Currently closed, but a few signature dishes are available at sister restaurant, Rose’s Daughter
  • Dada Dates from Dada Delray — black pepper bacon, goat cheese, Spanish chorizo, manchego salsa, marcona almonds, sherry gastrique
    • Currently closed.

I can’t wait to be able to dine in at these restaurants again! For now, pickup and delivery for those that are still open will have to do.

For more information on how you can support the Delray Beach restaurant scene, check out The Socially Distanced Supper Club on Facebook. You can also participate in the Downtown Delray Pick Up Delray initiative whenever you order from a Delray Beach restaurant by taking a photo when you pick up your food, or once it is delivered, and sharing your photo on Facebook or Instagram, tagging the restaurant you ordered from and using the hashtag #PickUpDelray.

Support your local restaurants, wherever you reside. With your help, they’ll be able to keep their doors open and pay their employees through these rough, uncertain times — and be able to continue doing so once things start to go back to normal.
