Top 5 Favorite Dishes on the Kapow Menu in Boca Raton

I’m sharing my top 5 favorite things to order from the Kapow menu at the Boca Raton location!

Kapow Noodle Bar

Kapow Noodle Bar is one of my favorite restaurants in Boca Raton. If you’re not familiar with Kapow Boca Raton, the menu is Modern Asian street food — and it is seriously delicious.

This beloved Boca restaurant recently moved into a much larger space right across the street from its original location, which opened in November 2011. I moved to Boca in December 2011, and it didn’t take me long to discover this gem. Take a trip down memory lane and check out this blog I wrote about Kapow Noodle Bar back in 2018!

There is also a location on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach, which opened in 2017. There are a few small differences in the menus, mainly that the one in Boca also offers sushi.

Both locations are known for having a great bar scene and chill lounge vibes, complete with karaoke too! In Boca, three private karaoke spaces can be reserved for events for both large and small parties (food and beverage minimums apply).

Although the cocktails and unique decor and vibe do play a large role in the restaurants’ popularity, it’s the Kapow menu of contemporary Southeast Asian cuisine that truly shines.

One of the things I love most about the Kapow menu is that it is extremely inclusive. There are many vegetarian options and plenty of items either are or can be made gluten free.

Kapow Noodle Bar is one of my go-to spots in Boca Raton, and I love visiting the Downtown West Palm location whenever I’m in that area. Here are my favorite things to order from the Kapow menu whenever I stop by!

My Go-To Orders from the Kapow Menu

General Tso’s Cauliflower

Kapow Menu General Tso's Cauliflower

Made with sweet shallots, chili sauce, and Chinese black vinegar, these cauliflower bites are a powerhouse of flavor. Be aware that they do pack some heat! I tend to stay away from anything too spicy. But these are just so good that I keep ordering them — even though sometimes I start sweating halfway through the bowl.

This dish has been a staple on the menu for a while. It’s perfect to order as an appetizer to share with friends or keep for yourself. Either way, it’s a delicious starter and a must-have at Kapow.

Avocado Crispy Rice

The version as-is on the menu comes with guacamole, pickled ginger, Sriracha, sweet soy, and rice pearls. Don’t worry; this is an easy fix for us non-gluten-eaters. Let the server know you are gluten free, and they will omit the sweet soy on top. It is still delicious, I promise!

If you want, ask for gluten-free soy sauce on the side to dip the crispy rice into, or drizzle overtop. I could eat a whole plate of these easily. All it takes is two or three bites to scarf these babies down. In about 10 seconds, you will almost certainly be reaching for another.

They come with four per order. If you’re with a group of friends, make sure to order enough!

Pad Thai

The Kapow menu has lots of choices for pad Thai: vegetable, shrimp, chicken, steak, and pork belly. Pad Thai is one of my all-time favorite foods, and I will always order it if it’s an option.

The dish is made with Bánh Phở noodles (made with rice flour), tamarind, lime, coriander, bean sprouts, egg, and peanuts. Kapow recently made a change to their pad Thai sauce to make it gluten free, which makes me very happy!

Wild Mushroom Chow Fun

This is another one of the gluten-free noodle dishes on the Kapow menu that I love to order. The mushroom version is vegan/vegetarian. You could also get it with chicken or steak if you want a heartier option.

Chow fun is a Cantonese stir-fry dish that consists of wide rice noodles, scallions, ginger, bean sprouts and dark soy sauce. And yes, Kapow uses gluten-free soy sauce!

Nueske’s Bacon & Egg Fried Rice

This is only available on the brunch menu, every Sunday from 11 am-3 pm. It comes with sunny-side-up eggs, pickled fresno, crispy shallots, and scallions. Fried rice for brunch? Count me in!

The Kapow menu for brunch also includes $15 bottomless mimosas, Aperol Spritz, Bloody Marys, and Sapporo draft beer. Guests can enjoy DJ entertainment in the courtyard and a great overall vibe!

Here’s a bonus item for you!

My absolute favorite cocktail to order from the Kapow menu is the Seoul Sunshine. It’s made with Iichiko shochu, Patron tequila reposado, lime, canton ginger, and the staple ingredient: bonne maman fig jam.

Please note: Those with Celiac or severe gluten allergies should always tell their server about their dietary restrictions to ensure there is no cross contamination involved in a gluten-free dish. Some preparations may be okay for people with gluten intolerances, but not suitable for those with more severe allergies.

Kapow Noodle Bar Boca Raton is located in Mizner Park at 402 Plaza Real. One of its main appeals is that it’s within walking distance of the Brightline Boca! It’s a great spot to have dinner before going to see live music in Boca Raton Florida, especially in the summer when there are free concerts at the Mizner Park Amphitheater.

The West Palm Beach location, located at 519 Clematis Street, is also within walking distance to a Brightline station. Having the stations so close means that friends in Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and Miami can easily come to visit either spot.

Reservations at Kapow can be made on Tock, and for all private event inquiries, reach out here.  There are always fun events and special promotions going on at Kapow, so make sure to follow along on Instagram at @kapownoodlebar to stay in the know!
